Welcome to Bon Echo Provincial Park, in Ontario, Canada! Aiko and I had a wonderful weekend camping, hiking, exploring, and enjoying nature there recently. Over the next week or so, I’m looking forward to sharing our adventures and photos with you!
Bon Echo is home to the seventh deepest lake in Ontario, Mazinaw Lake. It also features Mazinaw Rock, which is 100 m high and features many native pictographs which can see be seen today.
The park was first an inn catering to religious and the wealthier people, then sold to a family who opened it up to those in the arts community to use as a retreat. Eventually they donated it to the province of Ontario, and it was reopened as Bon Echo Provincial Park in 1965.
It is an absolutely beautiful and serene escape. I hope you enjoy our adventures as much as we did!
Such a beautiful place, great weather when you went and great pictures so far.
