Over New Years, my family took a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada. Although the strip was an experience, my favourite part was when we rented a van and all went out to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, about a half hour drive from the strip.

We did the scenic drive through the park, which was very beautiful! I would have loved to spend a day hiking one of the mountain trails, but when your ages range from 1-56, that’s not quite possible. Instead, we hiked Pine Creek Canyon. It was a shorter loop that took us over a partially frozen creek.

If I ever go back to Vegas, I think I’d rather spend my time camping and exploring more of Red Rock!
