Wilno, ON

On Saturday, Zach and I went for a drive to enjoy the last of the fall colours, and they did not dissapoint!

The view from St. Mary’s Church in Wilno

We turned down Old Barry’s Bay Rd and headed toward Crooked Slide Park as well. We hadn’t been there since the spring, and wanted to explore the park a bit more. Although it’s not huge, it offers some very nice views and a few short walking trails.

Our last stop on the way back was at the Warsaw Uprising Memorial, remembering the 1944 World War II operation.

Wilno is the first, and oldest, Polish settlement in Canada. I haven’t been there, but they also have the Polish Kashub Heritage Museum. Wilno and the surrounding area is definitely worth checking out if you’re ever near by!
